Description

It is typical for the art of Boeotia that it has held on to an old, traditional formal language for a long time. This is also evident in this statuette with its old-fashioned flat idol form and the more or less schematically arranged garment folds. In contrast, the face shows the stylistic forms of the classical period. It is a criterion for dating it to the second half of the 5th century BC (AVS).
