Die Porträtbüste aus Eisenkunstguss zeigt Königin Marie von Hannover geb. Prinzessin von Sachsen-Altenburg (1818-1907). Die Frau des letzten hannoverschen Königs Georg V. trägt ein Diadem im Haar. An ihrem Kleid sind ein Ordensband und ein Orden zu sehen. Die Büste steht auf einem Sockel mit dem gekröntem Wappen Hannovers. Die Vorlage für diese Büste schuf der hannoversche Bildhauer Georg Hurtzig in Anlehnung an die Büsten von Heinrich Hesemann. Hurtzigs Gipsbüste wurde 1862 an die Königshütte geliefert, der Guss erfolgte ab 1863/64. Vor 1867 wurden von dieser Büste nur 16 Stück produziert. [FA]
