Die kleine Büste aus schwarz lackiertem Zinn zeigt König Wilhelm IV. (1765-1837). Wilhelm war der letzte von fünf Königen, die Hannover und Großbritannien in Personalunion regierten – mit seinem Tod endete die Verbindung 1837. Der König ist als Schulterstück auf einem runden Sockel dargestellt. Auf dem Sockel das gekrönte Monogramm „W R R IV“ für König Wilhelm IV. Bei der abgebildeten Krone handelt es sich um die englische St. Edwardskrone, da das Königreich Hannover zu diesem Zeitpunkt keine eigene besaß. Der hannoversche Hof-Zinngießer J.E. Dubois stellte die Hohlform her. Der Entwurf für die Büste stammt vielleicht vom Bildhauer Ernst von Bandel (1800-1876), der auch das Göttinger Standbild von König Wilhelm IV. schuf. [FA]
