Beschreibung

In this piece, the fragment of a simple Navicella fibula without a needle holder and needle may have been combined with a fragment of a needle with partially preserved spiral coils.
The rhombic bow plate shows a punched double line accompanying the edges, which is divided into irregular boxes by short line punches. At the widest point, a comparable hallmark ornament sits perpendicular to the bow.
On one side of the bow the needle has broken off, while on the opposite side there is still a small remnant of the needle holder. At the needle end of the bow, a bronze needle with the spiral remnant running across it was pushed onto the bow fragment, so it was non-functioning. Above the spiral remnant, two rusty narrow iron bands can be seen, which were probably also added later.
The piece is probably a pastiche of old and modern elements.
