Stands like this form the basis for one of the so-called stand attachments among the Luristan Bronzes.
A bead at the lower end of the hollow base is uneven due to irregular casting and corrosion, so that the stability of the piece is affected. A second narrow bead is visible between the bulge and the protruding shape of the base.
Above the bulbous body, a ledge represents the transition to the tube, revealing the location where the tube and the lower part of the piece were joined. The plate-shaped base added to the top of the tube still reveals a thin tube inside.
The combination of the stand of the hollow base and the tube is out of alignment and leans to one side.
Since the piece represents a stand and itself tends to tilt, it is non-functional. Further unusual features are the misshapen bead as a stand base, the probably later connection of the hollow foot and tube, and the narrow tube that is stuck in the shaft hole. Due to the accumulation of standard deviations in connection with the poor quality of the piece, it must be assumed that this is a modern copy of an Iron Age model.
